Brighton UK Uncut

Police presence in North Street obviously prepared for protest today

Brighton Lewes Road Community Garden

Representatives of the land owners again tried to evict the occupiers and members of the local community who have built a Community Garden on the site of the old petrol station on Lewes Road Brighton. The attempt commenced at 7AM today

After negotiations between the community, the bailiffs and Sussex Police, the bailiffs and security left without securing the site so the matter remains ongoing

More photo’s will be on Alamy (Click Here), just my search my collection for Lewes Road Community Garden

Disarm DSEi protest Olympia London 14/4/2010

About 20 or 30 protesters gathered outside Kensington Olympia Exhibition Centre today against the Counter Terror Expo being held there

There was one arrest for after a protestor chalked two slogans along the pavement

It certainly looked as if something was up when it began to look as if we were going to be refused admission despite having pre-arranged Media access

But…. A bit of shoving from the venue security and then the passes were brought out to us – unlike the other passes which were being issued inside and there was a bit of a delay issuing them too

Sadly, but unsurprisingly I guess, a strict no photos policy inside too

Although an image that stuck in my mind was the exhibitor selling shooting targets – lo and behold – one life sized target was a man with a camera

Anyway – photos from this protest will be uploaded to Radical Images later on

Lewes Road Community Garden Brighton

On the site of an old petrol station in Lewes Road Brighton (adjacent to a Co-Op supermarket) activists and locals have set up a Community Garden

The site’s earmarked for a Tesco store and those involved are Campaigning to keep the site as an area for the local community

One resident of the area told me today that he drops in most days and had made friends with a lot of the people who use the garden. “It’s a nice peaceful place” he said

Photos will be on Radical Images as this story continues
